Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has rejected reports linking his club with a bid for Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong. A number of newspapers this week reported the Bundesliga side were lining up an approach for the 27-year-old Netherlands international, who has a year to run on his deal at the Etihad Stadium. But responding to the speculation on Bayern's pre-season tour of China, Rummenigge told Sport Bild: "We know that De Jong's agent offers him everywhere. But it is not true to say there is interest from FC Bayern." De Jong, who has previously played in the Bundesliga with Hamburg, joined City in 2009 but saw his first-team chances limited last season as the club secured their first league title in 44 years.
