Coleman to discuss taking charge

Former Fulham manager Chris Coleman will meet Football Association of Wales chiefs this week to discuss their country\'s vacant manager\'s post. Coleman is out of work after quitting Greek club Larissa earlier this month and has already expressed his desire to be Gary Speed\'s successor as Wales manager. The 41-year-old Welshman was in the running to replace John Toshack as Wales manager 16 months ago but lost out to his close friend Speed. However, Speed passed away at his home in November and, after a period of mourning, the Welsh FA are set to begin the process of speaking to candidates for the job. \"I\'ll meet with the FAW this week to discuss the situation,\" Coleman said. \"It is a very sensitive situation so if I am offered the job and I accept it I\'ll have mixed emotions. Ideally Speed would still be sitting here doing a great job for our country.\" Coleman, who won 32 caps for Wales as a centre-back, had spells in charge at Fulham, Spanish club Real Sociedad and Coventry City before moving to Larissa.
