Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the departure of defender Vedran Corluka to Lokomotiv Moscow. The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Manchester City for a reported £8.5m in 2008, having impressed in his single season in the north but being keen to join international team-mate Luka Modric at White Hart Lane. He made 110 appearances for Tottenham, scoring once, but found himself behind Kyle Walker in the pecking order, and he was farmed out to Bayer Leverkusen for the second half of this past season while also clashing with manager Harry Redknapp when he criticised a lack of squad rotation. A move this summer had been anticipated and Lokomotiv made their move this week under new head coach Slaven Bilic, who was coach of Croatia for six years before stepping down after their elimination from UEFA EURO 2012. "We have reached agreement with Lokomotiv Moscow for the transfer of Vedran Corluka," Tottenham said in a statement on their website. "We wish Vedran all the best for the future." FIFA.
