Following are the drawing results of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Asian qualifiers final round made here on Tuesday:
Group A: Iran, South Korea, Uzbekistan, China, Qatar, Syria
Group B: Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq, Thailand.
The six teams in each group will play home-and-away under the round-robin format, with the first round kicking off on Sept. 1, 2016.
The winner and runner-up of each group, making four teams in total, will qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia finals while the third-placed teams of each group will play each other in Asian Play-off Round.
The winner of the Asian Play-off Round will have to defeat a member of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) in a two-legged inter-confederation playoff to win a ticket to Russia.
