Ecclestone returns to F1 board

Formula One's commercial ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone has rejoined the board of the Formula One group which runs the sport after stepping down to fight his bribery case in Germany.
The 84-year-old F1 supremo's reappointment was confirmed by F1's official Twitter account on Friday.
Ecclestone, who has run Formula One since 1978, was joined on the board - as non-executive directors - by former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo and Paul Walsh, former CEO of drinks giant Diageo.
In August, Ecclestone settled his bribery case after arranging a controversial $100 million (75-million-euro) payment.
Ecclestone went on trial in April on charges of paying a $44-million bribe to a Bavarian state bank executive for help in maintaining his four-decade grip on F1.
A settlement is allowed in German criminal cases if the prosecution, the aggrieved parties and the court agree.
