Freddy Sidhwa, captain of Seven Seas Strikers and one of the senior most cricketers in the country, in collaboration with the Dubai Cricket council (DCC) has taken the lead to stage the event in Dubai. “This memorial cup will be staged to honour the contribution of the late Mr. Malik to promote the game in the region. He served the game for nearly 3 decades and his dedicated service needs to be appreciated,” remarked Sidhwa. Friends and well wishers from the cricket fraternity here condoled the loss of Farid Malik and acknowledged his sincere and honest efforts to promote the game in the region. “The tournament will be held regularly and no participation fee will be collected from the teams. Refreshments and prizes will be offered,” said Tariq Butt, Sr UAE Umpire. From khaleejtimes
