Tokyo - Arabstoday
The first batch of tickets for the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012 went on sale earlier this month and have now all been sold. Fans looking to attend the competition need not despair, however, as further tickets will become available in November and will remain on sale right through to the start of the competition in December. To keep abreast of developments, simply log on to FIFA.com. In addition, both Corinthians and Chelsea asked for extra tickets for their fans and had their requests met. The first round of ticket sales took place between 9 and 23 September, following an exclusive pre-sale phase for VISA customers in August. Tickets were available for purchase by fans around the world at FIFA.com on a first-come, first-serve basis. Demand was particularly high in Brazil, with the Japan 2012 Local Organising Committee announcing that they were unable to fulfil all the tickets applications for games involving Corinthians. More than 20,000 tickets have been sold for the two games on 12 December, Matches 4 and 5, the second of which is the semi-final involving Corinthians at the Toyota Stadium. Over half were bought in Brazil. In that match the Copa Libertadores champions will take on the winners of the quarter-final between Africa’s representatives and the victors of the play-off tie between Auckland City and the Japanese champions. There was an even greater take-up for the final, Match 8, to be played on Sunday 16 December. Only a small number of tickets for Match 8, and Match 7 (Match for third place), will be available for sale due to tickets being assigned to participating clubs. From / FIFA
