Spain's Rafael Nadal
London - Arab Today

Two-time former champion Rafael Nadal has been seeded a lowly 10th at Wimbledon after a disappointing 2015 campaign with Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams named top seeds.

Former world number one Nadal, the Wimbledon champion in 2008 and 2010, has endured a miserable record at the All England Club in recent years, losing in the second, first and fourth rounds in his past three visits.

He was dethroned as French Open champion this season and despite winning the grasscourt title in Stuttgart, he was then bundled out of Queen's by Ukrainian journeyman Alexander Dolgopolov in his opening match.
As 10th seed, Nadal could play one of his major rivals such as Djokovic, seven-time champion Roger Federer or 2013 winner Andy Murray as early as the fourth round at Wimbledon, which starts on Monday.

Defending champion Djokovic and five-time winner Williams are both current world number ones and their top billing was a formality.

Federer, fresh from his eighth Halle grass-court title, is seeded second, with Murray at three.

Behind Williams, who remains on course for the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open and French Open, defending Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is seeded second.

Romania's Simona Halep takes the third seeding ahead of Maria Sharapova, the 2004 winner.
With the exception of Canada's Milos Raonic, a semi-finalist in 2014, being seeded one spot above Spanish veteran David Ferrer, the seedings remained true to the current top 10 rankings for both men and women.

Top 16 men's seeds:

1. Novak Djokovic (SRB), 2. Roger Federer (SUI), 3. Andy Murray (GBR), 4. Stan Wawrinka (SUI), 5. Kei Nishikori (JPN), 6. Tomas Berdych (CZE), 7. Milos Raonic (CAN), 8. David Ferrer (ESP), 9. Marin Cilic (CRO), 10 Rafael Nadal (ESP), 11 Grigor Dimitrov (BUL), 12 Gilles Simon (FRA), 13 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA), 14 Kevin Anderson (RSA), 15 Feliciano Lopez (ESP), 16 David Goffin (BEL)

Top 16 women's seeds:

1 Serena Williams (USA), 2 Petra Kvitova (CZE), 3 Simona Halep (ROM), 4 Maria Sharapova (RUS), 5 Caroline Wozniacki (DEN), 6 Lucie Safarova (CZE), 7 Ana Ivanovic (SRB), 8 Ekaterina Makarova (RUS), 9 Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP), 10 Angelique Kerber (GER), 11 Karolina Pliskova (CZE), 12 Eugenie Bouchard (CAN), 13 Agnieszka Radwanska (POL), 14 Andrea Petkovic (GER), 15 Timea Bacsinszky (SUI), 16 Venus Williams (USA)
