France No 8 Damien Chouly has extended his contract with league leaders Clermont by three years until June 2019, the Top 14 club announced Friday.
The contract of the 29-year-old Chouly, capped 27 times by France and who arrived at Clermont from Perpignan in 2012, was due to finish in June 2016.
But Clermont officials decided to give their captain a vote of confidence.
"My contract extension comes as part of the club's continuing sporting plans, with yet more great ambitions ensured in the coming seasons," Chouly said.
