Chris Froome will gear up for a third Tour de France title and the Olympic Games with a 2016 seasonal debut in the February 3-7 Sun Tour in Australia.
"Victoria is a beautiful part of the world and racing in the warm climate will give me a good platform for the new season," the Kenyan-born Briton announced in a Team Sky statement.
The 30-year-old, winner of the Tour de France in 2013 and 2015, lined up in Australia's oldest race in 2008, finishing fourth.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio he is aiming at the time-trial and road race.
