Gremio close in on Atletico

Atletico Mineiro\'s advantage at the Brazilian Campeonato summit was cut to one point on Wednesday night as they were held to a goalless draw at Bahia while Gremio edged bottom-of-the-table Atletico Goianiense 2-1 to climb to second. Clarence Seedorf netted twice in as many minutes as Botafogo battled from a goal down to win 3-1 at Cruzeiro and climb above their opponents into seventh in the standings. Caio bagged the game\'s only goal a minute after the interval to earn Figueirense only their fourth win of the season - 1-0 at home to Corinthians - while Uendel\'s strike midway through the first half handed Ponte Preta a 1-0 win at Flamengo. Finally, Portuguesa capitalised on the fifth-minute dismissal of Coritiba wing-back Sergio Escudero to overcome the visitors 3-0.
