India continued its winnings spree in the inaugural South Asian Beach Games 2011, bagging two more gold and two silvers leading its way to a total six medals at the inaugural South Asian Beach Games in Hambantota, southern coastal city in Sri Lanka. India started its medal hunt with swimmers Merwyn Roark Chen and Mandar Divase clinched the gold and silver respectively in men\'s 5 kilometer marathon swimming. Indian riders went on to win its second gold and silver in equestrian- individual swords. Jaswinder Singh won the gold while India\'s Nara Singh won the silver. The third place was clinched by Sri Lanka\'s Sarath Kumara. The first medal for Sri Lanka was registered by Pathum Edirisinghe who won the bronze in the 5km swimming marathon in Hambantota beach. Sri Lanka host the first ever international beach games in Tsunami hit Hambantota, which is also claimed by the government as the booming economic center of the country after it capital Colombo. Sri Lanka opened its second harbor in Hambantota with the support of Chinese government. Hambantota also bidding to host 2018 Commonwealth against Australia\'s Gold Coast.
