Netherlands goalkeeper Tim Krul has returned to club side Newcastle after suffering an elbow injury in training yesterday. Krul played in the 2-0 win over Turkey in Oranje\'s opening FIFA World Cup™ qualifier on Friday night as he seeks to claim the number one jersey from Maarten Stekelenburg. But he now faces an anxious wait to discover the severity of the injury after being ruled out of the clash with Hungary on Tuesday night. Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal moved quickly to plug the gap left by Krul\'s departure by calling up 21-year-old Jeroen Zoet from RKC Waalwijk. Van Gaal placed his faith in youth for the Turkey clash with the likes of Daryl Janmaat, Bruno Martins Indi and Jordy Clasie all named in the starting XI. And, although the new-boys looked occasionally nervous, Van Gaal was pleased with their contribution. \"With the victory against Turkey, we have moved two or three steps forward,\" he told ANP. \"This was a game where some of the players had to step up a level. Playing at that level brings with it tension.\" Van Gaal is in his second spell in charge of the national team and is eager to avoid the mistakes of the first. He added: \"In retrospect, I retained the old squad too long. \"And while it was maybe logical as I didn\'t see many great talents coming through, luckily I have them now. It is important, however, for the Oranje players to show the same (at international level) as they do for their clubs.\" From : Fifa
