Former 125ccc world champion and Team Italia FMI technical director Roberto Locatelli believes that Romano Fenati\'s stunning second place on his grand prix debut in Qatar is \'just the beginning\'. Fenati led for seven of the 18 laps as he exchanged the lead with fellow FTR-Honda rider eventual winner Maverick Vinales, on his way to a safe second place. The 16-year-old Italian also set a front-running impressive pace in the final pre-season test at Jerez, meaning Locatelli has \'great expectations\' for this weekend. \"We leave Italy [for Jerez] knowing that we are force to be reckoned with,” said Locatelli, a winner of nine 125cc races. “The good result in Qatar put us in the spotlight, but this is just the beginning. Both riders are in good shape, and we go into the weekend with great expectations.\" Fenati\'s team-mate Alessandro Tonucci was hit at turn one at Losail after qualifying eleventh.
