
Andy Murray reached the last four of the ATP Shenzhen Open Friday, as he chases points to make November's ATP World Tour Finals in London.
The British second seed in Shenzhen defeated Slovak Lukas Lacko in his quarter-final match, and is in a good position in the tournament after top seeds David Gasquet and David Ferrer both crashed out.
Third seed Gasquet of France was dumped out in his quarter-final match by Juan Manaco of Argentina, who will face Murray in the last four.
Spanish top seed Ferrer had lost to Viktor Troicki in the previous round, and the Serb crashed out in his quarter-final match Friday, losing 7-6 (8/6), 6-3 to Santiago Giraldo.
The sixth seed Columbian will face Tommy Robredo in his semi-final match after he beat Andreas Seppi of Italy 6-4, 6-7 (5/7), 6-3.
Murray is ranked 11th in the world and needs to pick up points to make the season's finale in London in which the top eight players compete.
He is scheduled to play in the China Open in Beijing and the Shanghai Masters following Shenzhen.
