Pin Hitters to fore in Etihad Bowling League

As the league leaders and favorites tumble, Pin Hitters stole the limelight and ruled Week 5 of the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR)-Etihad Airways Tuesday Bowling League at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). Pin Hitters totally outbowled Yaris X, winning with by 21-5 to capture their first Team of the Week award. Leading the way for the Hitters was Anthony Farolina with a series of 886. He was ably supported by Joelito Santillan (851), Arnold Pineda (845), Mario Velasquez (774) and Edgar Badeo (770). SACO Bolts also delivered a surprise performance winning over Mandirigma II with a similar high score of 21-8. Defending champion Team Kamahalan rebounded from 4 weeks of consecutive losses and outgunned league leader NBA 21-8. In another upset match, No. 2 team SABB Advance fell to Pin Pals (17 to 10). Capping a mediocre night of the league leaders, No. 3 team Ayaw Na was stretched to the limit before winning over Thrill Seekers 16-13, with No. 4 Unica barely defeating Lane Cruiser 14-13 and No. 5 Habagat salvaging a win over Vinnell Arabia 15-11. Farolina bagged the Bowler of the Week award together with RB Borre of Thrill Seekers with a series of 905. Ace bowler Ronald Bautista maintained his lead in the MVP race Group 1 with an average of 227.14 followed by Ernee Noto (221.92) and Joe Garrido (219.38). In the Group 2 MVP Ferdie Dela Rosa now leads with an average of 191 followed by Fathi Abdulaziz (189.93) and Shawn Rickets (189.90).
