Moscow - ANSA

Ex-England manager Fabio Capello will be Russia\'s next coach and will take them to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the Russian press reported Friday. Capello will sign a deal next week giving him an annual salary of $5-6 million, according to the website of the Russian sports daily Sport Express. That means \'Don Fabio\' will be getting about 30% less than his predecessor Dick Advocaat of Netherlands, who stepped down following Russia\'s group-stage exit at Euro 2012. Sport Express said Capello was ready to work with Russian experts and his staff would include Russian coaches, especially those who have worked in Italy and know Italian. The former England boss has also said he is prepared to move to Moscow, the daily reported. According to Sport Express, Capello would like to lure AS Roma General Manager Franco Baldini to Russia after their success with England. Capello wound up talks with the Russian Soccer Federation on Thursday, the first of 13 official candidates to become national team coach. Sports Minister Vitali Mutko told news agency Ria Novosti that talks with the others would be concluded by next Tuesday. \"We will be obliged to make known the name of the new coach by July 22,\" Mutko said. According to Italy\'s Gazzetta dello Sport, Mutko was enthusiastic about the prospect of Capello coaching Russia, saying \"he\'s a manager who knows how to make teams win\". However, the minister was also quoted as saying a Russian coach might be better-equipped to cope with the fall-out from the early Euro 2012 exit. Former AC Milan, AS Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid boss Capello, 65, has been out of work since resigning as England manager in February in protest at the Football Association\'s decision to strip the national team captaincy from John Terry, who is on a trial over allegations he racially abused another player. Another Italian, Marcello Lippi, is among the 13 candidates. The 2006 World Cup-winning coach took the helm of Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande in May. Other candidates include former Valencia, Liverpool and Inter Milan boss Rafael Benitez, former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola and ex-Spurs manager Harry Redknapp, as well as former Argentina and Chile boss Marcelo Bielsa. London bookmakers have made Capello a 4-1 favourite to land the job.
