Building on the success of their second full season of sporting events and activities – Qsports Leagues have announced plans to hold a series of Ramadan sporting tournaments for men and women in Qatar. The tournaments are open to all residents of Qatar and interested teams and individuals can register for free on the QSports Leagues website. The events will take place between July 30th and August 7th 2012 on a daily basis between the hours of 20:30 to 00:30 with men’s sports including basketball, cricket, soccer and volleyball. Sports for women include basketball, volleyball and soccer. Mr Qasim Khalid – Qsports Coordinator – explains ‘after the daily breaking of the fast during Ramadan - people are often keen to be able to play and participate in sporting events during the evening hours – we hope to be able offer some exciting tournaments for everyone – there will be prizes and trophies for the top placed teams so we hope to get a positive response from the local community’. The tournaments will be supported by the Qatar Olympic Committee and QSports sponsors including Go Sports and ILoveQatar. from gulf times.
