Qtel has rewarded Qatar’s Olympic champions with special prizes to mark their historic achievements. Nasser Saleh al-Attiyah and Mutaz Essa Barshim, who both received bronze medals at the London Olympics 2012, were presented with QR100,000 by Qtel CEO Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani at a special ceremony at the Qtel Tower yesterday. Al-Attiyah received his bronze in the men’s skeet (rifle shooting) competition, while Barshim won his medal in the men’s high jump. Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani said: “We are delighted to present this award to Nasser Saleh al-Attiyah and Mutaz Essa Barshim. We are proud of their achievements and we hope their example will inspire other Qatari nationals to get involved in sport and a healthy lifestyle.” Qtel has a record of being a major supporter of sport at all levels in Qatar.
