Johnny Russell scored twice before seeing red as Dundee United swept to a 3-0 win over bitter rivals Dundee today in the city\'s first competitive derby in seven years. A Gavin Gunning header put Peter Houston\'s side ahead early in the first half at Tannadice before Scotland U-21 striker Russell netted twice in three minutes just before the break. But the derby clash turned ugly when Russell and Dundee captain Stephen O\'Donnell were sent off for violent conduct midway through the second half. United\'s win not only claimed the local bragging rights, but also sent the Terrors to the top of the Scottish Premier League as they maintained their 100 per cent record. In stark contrast, second bottom Dundee are still looking for their first victory and first goal of the new campaign.
