Sao Paulo is preparing to welcome over 800 guests and 600 media representatives for the draw for the FIFA Confederations Cup. The city’s Anhembi Convention Centre will provide the stage for draw show on 1 December, beginning at 11.20 local time, which will be produced by TV Globo under the lead of director Luis Gleyser. Delegates from all seven of the teams already assured of their places – the eighth and final participant, the African champions, will only be known on 10 February 2013 – count among the event’s guests. Indeed, among the high-profile celebrities from the worlds of sport, economy and politics are six of the participating teams’ coaches: Cesare Prandelli (Italy), Alberto Zacceroni (Japan), Jose Manuel de la Torre (Mexico), Vicente del Bosque (Spain), Eddy Etaeta (Tahiti) and Oscar Tabarez (Uruguay). FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke will be conducting the draw to determine which teams will be pitted against each other in the group stage of the 16-match tournament, which will take place across six Brazilian cities between 15 and 30 June 2013. The draw procedures will be approved by the Organising Committee of the FIFA Confederations Cup at its meeting on 30 November and then be published on FIFA.com. Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima and renowned chef Alex Atala will assist the FIFA Secretary General during the draw. Other key elements in the show will be the presentation of the Official Match Ball by two-time FIFA World Cup™ winner Cafu, and performances by Maria Gadu, Arlindo Cruz and the Meninos do Morumbi.
