World number one Serena Williams dominated Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-2, 6-3 on Monday, advancing to the WTA and ATP Miami Open quarter-finals with her 15th consecutive victory at the event.
Top seed Williams joined her sister Venus is reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament, which the American siblings have won a combined total of 10 times.
Serena Williams seeks her eighth Miami title and took a key step to that goal by dispatching 2006 Miami champion Kuznetsova in 73 minutes, Williams winning for the eighth time in their 10 career meetings.
Williams improved her Miami record to 70-7 as she seeks a third consecutive trophy at Crandon Park. Williams (2002-2004) and Steffi Graf (1994-1996) are the only two women to earn consecutive hat-tricks at the hardcourt event.
