Rising American talent Jack Sock cruised through the first round of the Auckland Open on Monday, downing France's Adrian Mannarino in straight sets. The 21-year-old, ranked 100 in the world, looked in complete control as he beat Mannarino 6-3, 6-4 in just over an hour. "Everything felt good," he said. "The court's a little quick so still getting used to that. "I'm just going out to play my game, use my weapons and compete hard." In the day's only other matches, Horacio Zeballos of Argentina defeated Italy's Filippo Volandri 6-0, 7-6 (7/1) and Colombian Santiago Giraldo swept aside Albert Montanes of Spain 6-1, 7-6 (7/3). The top four seeds in the tournament, including defending champion David Ferrer, have a bye into the second round and will not play until Wednesday. Source: AFP
