Silviniaco Conti produced an excellent staying performance to win the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Thursday giving trainer Paul Nicholls his eighth win in the prestigious race. The winner -- ridden by Noel Fehily -- looked beaten by joint favourite Cue Card after the second last fence but all of a sudden Joe Tizzard's mount ran out of petrol. Fehily took full advantage and after a perfect jump over the last stormed clear to win at 7/2 with Cue Card, whose connections thought he would get the trip this year, second at 100/30 and another Nicholls runner Al Ferof third at 5/1. Two-time winner Long Run was prominent early on but faded and failed to finish the race, unseating Sam Waley-Cohen at the last. Source: AFP
