Thiago Silva apologizes to AC Milan fans
Rome - ANSA
Brazil defender Thiago Silva on Thursday apologized to fans of AC Milan for having left the Italian soccer club for wealthy French outfit Paris Saint German. \"My transfer to Paris was not 100% my choice, seeing as I had just renewed my contract with Milan,\" Thiago Silva said at the Brazil national team\'s pre-Olympics retreat in Britain. \"Some have called me a mercenary, but I\'m not leaving to make more money than I did with Milan. \"I want to be clear that it\'s not my fault and I want to apologize to Milan\'s fans. Now I hope to make history in Paris St. Germain\". Silva explained he basically had no choice but to move from Milan along with Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he was offered an opportunity he could not pass up. \"I was called by (PSG Director of Football) Leonardo and (coach Carlo) Ancelotti,\" he said. \"What made me change club was their project. Like Ibrahimovic said, they\'re putting together a dream team\".

to 'eternal style' of late Alaia
Paris - Emiratesvoice
Two months after legendary designer Azzedine Alaia's sudden death plunged the fashion world into mourning, an exhibition in homage to the "King of Cling" opens Monday in his studios in Paris. The Tunisian-born designer, renowned for the way his clothes hugged the body, died suddenly in November aged 82, reportedly of heart failure after falling down the stairs at his home. The diminutive maverick, who ignored fashion week convention by showing when and where he wanted, in July produced his first couture collection in six years to rapturous reviews. Now some of his most iconic dresses are going on display in the glass-roofed gallery next to his studio and home in the Marais district where he used to show his creations. It includes the dress worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell, his longtime friend and muse, when she led
