Al Nasr coach Walter Zenga is on the shortlist to succeed Eduardo Reja at Serie A giants Lazio, according to reports in the Italian press. Reja resigned on May 17 despite pleas to continue from chairman Claudio Lotito. Having been at the Stadio Olympico for two years, he had guided the club from relegation fodder to mid-table. Zenga, who in two seasons at Al Nasr has taken the team from bottom of the league to second this season — and AFC Champions League qualification for the first time — has just signed a new two-year deal. He is in the mix for the Lazio job with the likes of Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Donadoni, Roberto Di Matteo and Didier Deschamps.Zenga said in April that he would drop everything to join Inter Milan — the club he graced as a player for many years — after Claudio Ranieri\'s dismissal. The former Romanian league and Serbian double-winning coach apparently included a release clause in the new deal, but it remains to be seen if that was only in the event of an approach from Inter.
