A total of 37 pandals are being set up in the biggest Myanmar city of Yangon to celebrate Thingyan water festival due to begin on April 13, official media reported Saturday. A newly designed magnificent Yangon Mayor\'s water-throwing pandal, which will be the central and the biggest one in the city, is being set up to stage traditional dances, songs, and comedy show. The costs for building pavilions this year is more expensive than last year, and security measures will also be stepped up, installing CCTV cameras to monitor the movement of people during the festival. This year\'s four-day water festival will run until April 16, during which, special trains will be put into operation to facilitate holiday makers. The Myanmar water festival represents a unique and entertaining event, and people of all ages, especially the young, have started making plan to spend the new year public holidays. Of Myanmar\'s 12 seasonal festivals throughout the year, the water festival is the biggest and the most merry one.
