
The 9th edition of Kuwait Creative Art Festival kicked off, Monday evening, where it show cased art pieces inspired by Kuwaiti heritage: past and present.
The event was held under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, however, Sheikh Duaij Falad Al-Salman Al-Sabah opened the evening on his behalf.
The festival, organized by Kuwait Art Association, coincided with national holidays and saw the attendance and participation of many local artists.
"Artists are true observers of changes that take place in any society," Sheikh Duaij pointed out, reading the opening speech of Sheikh Nasser to the event.
"Art, in its various forms, is an abstract expression and vehicle of communications of the human mind. It probes into deeper humanitarian and moral issues and tries to explore solutions that may lead to building better societies," he continued reading.
On his part, President of Kuwait Arts Association Abdul Rasoul Salman expressed his appreciation of Sheikh Nasser's sponsorship of the event and his support to art and artists.
At the end of the evening, winners were given awards presented under the names of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikha Salwa Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Sheikha Fotouh Al-Salman Al-Sabah.
