Japan\'s trade deficit expanded 25.0 percent on year to $9.8 billion in August as the country\'s energy import bill rose on a weak yen and high demand, official data showed Thursday. The deficit of 960.3 billion yen was up from 768.4 billion yen a year earlier but was smaller than market expectations for a shortfall of about 1.06 trillion yen.
