Sharqia Governor Reda Abdel Salam on Monday said a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to establish two garbage recycling plants in the governorate with Kuwaiti investments of $ one billion.
The governor led an extensive campaign to lift waste piles for Minya Al Qamh's one-feddan dump to the desert of Belbais.
He said that the scene would be converted to an open public park and a civilized marketplace for street vendors.
The governor also called on the NGOs and civil society organizations to launch clean-up campaigns to preserve the civilized face of the Sharqia.
