
Cairo supply police Sunday seized large quantities of smuggled goods before being sold on the black market.
As many as two tons of salt, 1,600 kilograms of rice, two tons of flour, 750 kilograms of pasta, 500 kilograms of cooking oil and 960 packages of food supplies were seized before being resold on the black market in the capital.
All legal measures have been taken and the prosecution has been notified to launch a probe.
Security crackdown on smuggled goods are being launched upon directives issued by Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to intensify surveillance on markets to fight commercial fraud and control prices.
