The African Development Bank (AfDB) has contributed to about 30 development operations in Egypt during 2015.
A bank representative put the value of the operations at about 1.7 billion dollars.
The AfDB will help Egypt outline a national statistical strategy in the coming stage, the representative said during a workshop organized by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Tuesday for the purpose.
Egypt is a founding country of the AfDB, which was established in 1964, the representative said.
Ever since 1974 until December 2015, the AfDB has okayed funds worth 5.4 billion dollars to development projects in Egypt, he noted.
The energy sector received about 49 percent of the funds, the representative said.
The AfDB is seeking to have a sustainable statistical system to help it meet pressing demands and support development goals in Africa, the representative added.
