
Minister of Civil Aviation Hossam Kamal received on Wednesday International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President Benard Aliu, who is currently visiting here, to take part in the 25th round of the General Assembly of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), which kicked off here Tuesday.
A statement released by the Civil Aviation Ministry said Aliu thanked the Egyptian minister for Egypt's hosting of the AFCAC meeting and praised Egypt's role in supporting the civil aviation industry in the African continent and its bid to establish a unified market for Africa's civil aviation.
The meeting took up a number of issues regarding security and safety of civil aviation and the development of airports' infrastructure as well as other challenges facing the aviation industry in the region.
ICAO's chief extended an invitation to the Egyptian minister to visit the premises of his organization in Montreal and voiced the organization's support to the Egyptian civil aviation system.
