Prince Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa (C)
Manama - BNA

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that the services and means to improve living standards provided by the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for their peoples exceed those offered by developed countries. He attributed the success to the GCC leaders’ policies and constant follow-up on all issues related to the interests of their countries.
In this regard, HRH Premier called on countries of the region to preserve their development gains, not be distracted by each other’s internal affairs and confront the plots staged against them for the sake of destroying their achievements.

"We have to condemn all external attempts to interfere in the GCC countries’ affairs, focus only on issues that achieve our interests and adopt firm, clear and consistent stances, without courtesy or equivocation, in order to safeguard our security and stability whatever the results are," he said.

Receiving at the Gudaibiya Palace today Royal Family members, senior officials, press and media personnel and businessmen, HRH the Prime Minister reviewed a number of local, regional and international issues.

"GCC countries have to look beyond offensive statements, and discuss the motives and goals of those who make them," he said, stressing that countries of the region should take a unified decision vis-à-vis various issues that pose a threat to their security and stability, especially amid the recent political developments and agreements which require careful follow-up and analysis," he told the audience.

Maintaining security and stability tops the government’s agenda, and will continue focusing on it so as to enforce the law on violators for the best interests of the homeland, he added.

He also asserted that Bahrain is capable of safeguarding its security and stability.

"Our country is dear to us, and will remain a strong nation that does not care about whoever seeking to undermine its security or abuse its openness," he said.

"We are capable of confronting all plots targeting us by the solidarity and cohesion of our people," he added, lauding the sincere patriotic feelings showcased recently by the Bahraini citizens whom, he said, have, throughout history, set the example in loyalty to the nation and unity against whoever tries to harm it.

"We have to be more vigilant and aware of what is going on around us, rally together in defence of the homeland by deeds and words and leave no loophole for those seeking to impede our efforts to carry on the development and nation-building process," he explained.

HRH the Prime Minister expressed sincere thanks and appreciation for the patriotic stances of the Bahraini Press and columnists for their denunciation of foreign interference in Bahrain’s domestic affairs, noting that such stances reflect the positive response of the Bahraini people against whoever tries to cause harm to the kingdom.

The analyses and issues published by the Bahraini Press represent a "brainstorming" that help the government and officials take the right decisions that serve the interests of Bahrain and its people, he said.
HRH Premier called on the press and media community to carry on defending the Kingdom, and play their role in highlighting various issues, without hesitation, affirming that their visions and ideas are always appreciated and taken into consideration.
