
Suez Canal revenues have reached almost dlrs 47 billion over the past 10 years (2004-2014), according to a statement of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
CAPMAS statement, released on Tuesday on the occasion of the New Suez Canal inauguration celebration, said the canal revenues recorded dlrs 3.3 billion, its lowest rates ever in the fiscal year 2004-2005.
The monthly report of Canal showed an increase by 13.4 percent in the number of oil tankers crossing the waterway to reach 373 during May 2015 compared to 329 tankers in May 2014.
The cargo of the ships crossing the canal recorded 85.8 million tons in May compared to 82 million tons during the same month of the previous year.
