The meeting between the Government and Walis (governors), scheduled for Saturday in Algiers, will address the socio-economic challenged posed to our country, particularly housing and the living environment of citizens.
Issues relating to housing programmes, citizens' living environment and the challenges in the sector, as well as means to expand building will be discussed during this meeting, which will be attended by members of the Government and the governors of the 48 provinces of the country.
A survey on building land nationwide was launched in 2014 with a view to assess the potential available for the 2015-2019 programme, which aims at building 1.6 million housing units.
The Ministry of Housing intends to launch projects of 800,000 LPL housing units, 400,000 rural houses and 400,000 AADL housing units as part of the ambitious 2015-2019 housing programme, which aims at solving the housing crisis by 2019.
