
Damietta governorate was hit on the wee hours of Sunday heavy rains that suspended fishing in Mediterranean Sea and Lake Manzala.
The rains also disrupted market and traffic movement.
Authorities in the governorate are on alert ahead of any expected accidents that may take place on highways and the international coastal road.
The work at Damietta silo was also suspended due to the rains, head of silos department in Damietta and Port Said Moataz Bellah el Hosaini said, adding that loading and unloading will be resumed as soon as the rains stop.
