
Chief of staff of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Kamel al Wazir said the first phase of the industrial zone in East Port Said will end in two years' time.
Flanked by Ibrahim Mahlab, the presidential advisor for development projects during a visit to the area, Wazir said the project will be in parallel with another project on 40 square kilometers, in addition to a fish farm area on 80 square kilometers to produce 55 tons of fish annually.
He said the East Port Said area project, which is established on 160 million square meters, is a real start for development
as it will include a 20-kilometer long quay and a waterway in the first phase.
For his part, Major General Asharf Wagih, the head of the consultant office of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, said 15 percent of the project of deepening the side canal of East Port Said port has been fulfilled.
