Trade and Industry Minister Munir Fakhry Abdel Nour called Tuesday for a unified African stance on the negotiations and issues of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to serve the interests of the developing countries.
The minister made the call during a meeting with the trade ministers of the African countries that are members in the WTO, on the sidelines of the third COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite Summit in Sharm el Sheikh.
For the first time, the ministerial conference of the WTO will be held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, giving an opportunity to place the African issues on the negotiating table of the organization, Abdel Nour said.
