Egyptian cabinet convenes to discuss political, economic files

The Cabinet held a meeting on Wednesday under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to discuss political, economic and security files and ways of securing the Egyptian street and taking the necessary measures to confront terrorism.
The meeting discussed preparations for the opening of the New Suez Canal on August 6.
The meeting also reviewed a report about the security conditions and ways of confronting terrorist groups.
The meeting further tackled ways of implementing draft laws, which were endorsed recently, especially those related to the political life and elections.
