Egypt's housing minister discuss development work in number of slums

Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli held on Sunday a meeting with slums development officials to discuss development work in a number of slums.

The meeting also tackled the organizational structure of a 811-million-pounds slums development fund and its work mechanisms in the upcoming period.

In the new structure of the new cabinet, the ministry is assigned with following up the development of slums project instead of urban development and slums ministry that was integrated in housing ministry.

The project will start with developing the Maspero triangle, the minister said, adding that other slums will be developed nationwide.

He also asserted that the government is capable of eliminating the unsafe areas within three years at most.
