Head of Benha Industrial Technical Institute, his deputy and a number of top officials were referred to investigations on Saturday over negligence.
Minister of Higher Education Sayed Abdel Khalik took the decision during a surprise visit to the institute.
During his tour, the minister noticed absence of the institute's deputy head and the closure of all its workshops with no reason.
The minister will launch a series of surprise visits to inspect work at educational facilities nationwide, the head of education department at the higher education ministry said.
