Conference in Tunisia
Tunis - APS

The international conference "Invest in Tunisia, Start-up Democracy," scheduled for Monday in Tunis aims at restoring foreign investors confidence in Tunisia.
About thirty countries will participate in the high-level meeting, including Algeria represented by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, in addition to representatives of regional and international financial institutions and multinational companies.
The main objective of the conference is to "restore investors' confidence in Tunisia as a promising investment destination," said recently Tunisia's Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa, quoted by the Tunisian news agency TAP.
"It's a meeting to encourage foreign investment and not a donor countries' conference," he said, adding that the Tunisian government "seeks to build fruitful cooperation with its partners and reliable partnerships and not aid."
A series of projects to be financed will be presented during the meeting, including public structural projects and public-private development projects.
The United Nations, the African Union, the Arab League, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the European Investment Bank, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the European Union and the Arab Monetary Fund are the major institutions and organizations invited to the conference.
