
The Ministry of Agriculture said that Jordan's exports of vegetables and fruits to Iraq had not been affected following the decision by the Iraqi government to close the borders with Jordan.
The Ministry's media spokesperson Nimir Haddadin said that 61 trucks laden with fruits and vegetables have entered Iraq since the first day of Eid Al Fitr through the Kuwait-Basra highway.
He added that fruits and vegetables were exported through Kuwait before the decision was taken by the Iraqi government to close the borders.
Haddadin told Petra on Monday that 4000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables have been exported to Arab Gulf states and Iraq since the first day of Eid Al Fitr through 206 trucks .
