 Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh announced on Thursday Kuwait would chair the third session of the "Abu Dhabi Dialogue," succeeding the Philippines.
The minister speaking to journalists on sidelines of launching the "Abu Dhabi Dialogu-3," said the conferees would discuss labor movement to and from countries in Asia and means of enforcing international criteria on expatriate workers.
Minister Al-Sabeeh, the conference chair, added that they would also adopt "plans for training and qualifying the traveling labor, workers' rights and law enforcement concerning the laborers." The conference, which got underway here earlier today, under sponsorship of His Highness the Amir, aims to tackle a host of issues namely educating and training workers before traveling to other countries for work and harmonizing market needs with job-seekers' qualifications The dialogue involves 18 countries, including those that host the foreign workers, namely Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Malaysia, and the countries of origin, such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
The dialogue was launched in 2008 in the UAE.
