Major power outage in Lebanon

Lebanon Electricity Corporation announced a major power outage in most of Lebanese districts, including the capital, as a result of increasing demand along with a halt of power production sources.
A statement released by the Lebanese electricity corporation said the power demand exceeded 3,150 megawatts, while production is less than 50 percent of the demand.
The statement said that work is going on to restore full work of the power network, noting that the situation is expected to return to normal by Saturday evening.
