Municipal fees slashed for needy families in Bahrain

Municipal fees have been slashed for 304 Bahraini tenant families. Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf issued an edict ordering the reduction. The move follows directives from the wise leadership to alleviate citizens' living burdens, exempt low-income people from paying fees or write off their arrears and debts.
"The citizens whose fees have been slashed or written off will also benefit from all other municipal services", the minister said, pointing out that the measures will be coordinated with the Capital Trustees and other municipal councils.
