Cairo International Airport police have foiled an attempt by an Egyptian passenger to smuggle some 1.9 million Saudi riyals out of the country.
The passenger was planning to deliver the money to two exchange companies in the UAE, security sources at the airport said Tuesday.
Munir H. M. was arrested while finalizing departure procedures of a Manama-bound flight.
He was hiding the money inside packed clothes.
He was planning to travel to Bahrain and then to the UAE to deliver the money to the two exchange offices.
All legal measures will be taken against the passenger.
