Preparations to dig two tunnels under the Suez Canal in Ismailia are underway, said Chief of Staff of the Army's Engineering Authority Major General Kamel el Wazir on Friday.
The digging works of the EGP 29 billion project will kick off after digging machines, due to arrive from Germany, are installed in December, Wazir added.
The project is a part of a wider one to dig four tunnels, for cars and railways, under the Suez Canal in Ismailia and Port Said governorates.
