
The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), the Ministry of Environment in Qatar, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) and the Gulf Association for Metrology (GULFMET) will organize the First GCC Metrology Forum in Doha on December 15 .
The two-day forum aims to exchange ideas on best means to increase awareness on the industrial level and the overall level of compliance of industrial measurements. It also aims at providing an overview assessment of the requirements of Gulf industries and institutions for services in the field of metrology, in addition to reviewing the means to raise the national capacity in the field of industrial standards. It also aims to exchange ideas on attracting new activities and areas in metrology and international practices to enhance the infrastructure of measurement as a component of quality in the development of member states
The forum comes in response to the global reports for companies operating in the field of metrological services that refer to the increasing demand for metrological services in the coming period and in all industrial sectors, especially the automotive sector, the electronics industry, power generation and others.
The First GCC Metrology Forum targets government and private laboratories, respective institutions and companies, the ministries of commerce and industry and environment, the industrial companies that operate in the following areas; oil, gas, energy, petrochemicals and metals and their composition, as well as universities, scientific research institutions and competent international organizations in the field of measurement and calibration.
